Pairing and Syncing to a Smartphone - Garmin

Enable Bluetooth wireless technology on your smartphone.
On your smartphone, open the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app, choose Sign In.
Check both Legal Agreements
Click next.
Sign in using your Launch Garmin credentials.
Email example: 123456@sps.org (Your @sps.org Google/Gmail address)
Password example: Upper case first initial, lower case last initial, 8-digit date of birth, and an exclamation point.
Select device "Vivosmart 4"
On your smartphone, open the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app, select three lines or the three dots, and select Garmin Devices > Add Device to enter pairing mode.
On your device, tap the button to view the menu, and select the Bluetooth phone and then the syncing icon with two arrows chasing each other.
Click Pair Now or Show Me How to Pair to enter pairing mode.

Follow directions in Garmin Connect app to set personal preferences

To determine which Garmin you have you can check the back of the Garmin near where the sensor is located.
Pairing to Your Smartphone

Click next.

Browse compatible devices.
Select "Vivosmart 5."
Enter the 6-digit code displayed on the Garmin device.
Follow the directions in the Garmin Connect app to set personal preferences.

Using Your Vivosmart 5
The Garmin should be snug but comfortable, and it should not move while running or exercising.
To Use:
Double-tap: Double-tap the touchscreen to wake the Garmin.
NOTE: The screen turns off when not in use. When the screen is off, the Garmin is still active and recording data.
Wrist gesture: Rotate and lift your wrist toward your body to turn the screen on. Rotate your wrist away from your body to turn the screen off.
Press: Press the button on the screen to wake the Garmin.
Press the button on the screen to open and close the menu from the main Garmin Screen.
Press the button on the screen to return to the previous screen.
Hold: During a timed activity, hold the button on the screen to stop the timer.
Swipe: Swipe the touchscreen up or down to scroll through widgets and menu options. From the watch face, swipe right to view the controls menu.
Tap: Tap the touchscreen to make a selection.
Troubleshooting/Issues:
This is the go-to fix for anyone using one of the new Vivosmart 5 watches. If the watch freezes, stops recording heart rate, etc., students can hold down the button to restart/soft reset the watch.
Syncing Workout Data with a Smartphone
After you have paired your device, it will periodically sync data with the Garmin Connect Mobile app automatically. You can also manually sync your data at any time.
Bring the device near your smartphone.
Open the Garmin Connect Mobile app.
Tip: The app can be open or running in the background.
Select the
icon.
Wait while your data syncs.
View your current data in the Garmin Connect Mobile app.
